1. CEO

Erika Rohenes Weeber – Colombia. 

Born in Bogota but educated and established in Barranquilla, Erika is today the “adoptive daughter” of Cartagena city. Bachelor in Business Administration specialized in marketing, brand identity, design and production of corporate events. Her experience for more than 12 years in the fashion terrain has permitted her to work with famous Colombian designers such as Francesca Miranda and Judy Hazbún; brands such as Levis, Girbaud, Diesel, Tommy Hilfiger, among many others; Supermarkets and Department Stores such as Olímpica and Vivero (today Exito). In year 2004 she created Plataforma K, event organized in association with the Chamber of Commerce of Barranquilla, who´s direction and first two years where managed by her. In 2007 she created Ixel Moda, fashion event where she is partner and actual Executive President.

 2. Curator 

Danilo Cañizares – Colombia.

 

Fashion designer with Masters´ degree in Fashion Product Market Management from UCLA (USA), in Industrial Collection Programming from CEITH (Paris, France) and in Investigation on the Evolution of the Consumer from de Domus Academy (Milan, Italy). Professor and lecturer in the Theorem of Design with more than 15 years of experience, assessor and consultant in fashion and market intelligence. Expert conference man and also specialist in organizational coaching. Today, Danilo works as Director of Contents for Ixel Moda.

3. The scientific committee 

Regina A. Root – USA.

President Ad Honorem for the Scientific Council of IXEL MODA. Professor of the faculty of Modern Languages and Literature of the William & Mary University in Virginia, for the Study Program of Community, Environment, Science and Politics. Author of the book “The Latin American Fashion Readers”, which won the Whitaker price to best book in 2004-2005, also a guide on how to enter to Latin American markets of prestigious brands of that same continent. She also wrote “Couture and Consensus”, a literary piece on politics and fashion in the Argentinean post colonial era (University of Minnesota Press, 2010).

Alex Blanch – España.

Graphic and Industrial Designer from Escola de Disseny Elisava in Barcelona. Bachelor in Arts with honors from Southampton University, UK. Co Founder of the consultant company Blink D-sign. Alex has worked in various fields in design, such as corporate identity, design and illumination, web design and sound design for the movie advertising industry. Among his clients are Porsche, Lada, Barcelona City Hall, The European Cooperation, The Italian Cooperation, The Spanish Cooperation, and Mercosur. He has also worked in editorials by editing “Hechos del Diseño” (“Facts in Design”, Editorial ARQ, 2007), and has collaborated with several articles for scientific publications such as ARQ Magazine, Temes de Disseny, (Barcelona), Mercosur Design, (Roma), Design DK, (Copenhagen). Alex has also been working for quite a few years in the academic management area.

Kathia Castilho – Brazil.

Member of Ixel Modas´ Scientific Committee, Phd and masters’ degree in Communication and Semiotic from PUC, Sao Paulo.  Professor and investigator of Masters in Design of the University Anhembi Morumbi in Sao Paulo, also professor on several postgraduate courses in Brazil in the branches of Fashion Semiotic, Fashion and Communication, History of Fashion, and Contemporary Fashion. Acts as professor and Vice Coordinador of the Textile Technology and Fashion Course at EACH, University of Sao Paulo. She is also President of the Brazilian Association on Fashion Research. Since 2005, Kathia is the VP of the National Fashion Colloquial, the most important academic and scientific event in Brazil (www.coloquiodemoda.com.br) and of the School of Fashions forum, which congregates all the design and fashion schools to discuss problems regarding the market and fashion styles. Author of several publications such as Fashion and Language (Ed. Anhembi – Morumbi 2009)

Amparo Velasquez López - COLOMBIA

Secretary Ad Honorem of Ixel Modas´ Scientific Committee. Amparo is an Industrial designer, director of the Wardrobe Design Program of Pontificia Bolivariana University of Medellín.


4. Content committee

Laura Novik – Argentina.

Consumption and Market Intelligence Tutor of Ixel Moda. Laura is a Textile and Fashion Designer, Architect and Investigator. Fashion consultant specialized in trends, communication and new collection development; works for companies and governmental entities in Latin America and USA. Among her actual clients are Promperú, Italian Cooperation, Ripley, McCann Erickson and Paula Magazine. Famous ethic fashion activist of the Root Design Organization cofounded by herself. CEO of Blink Design, fashion consulting company.

Carol Garcia – Brazil.

Journalism and Fashion Communication Tutor for Ixel Moda. Carol is a Journalist with masters’ degree in Communication and Semiotics from the Pontificia Catholic University of Sao Paulo and PHD in the same program sponsored by CAPES Brazil. Consultant in communication and semiotic department, marketing strategies and behavioral analysis on fashion consumption, attending important companies established in the US and Brazil since 1998. Carol is the Scientific Director of Modus – Marketing and Semiotic, Co-author of the book “Moda é Comunicação: experiências, memórias, vínculos” (Fashion and Communication: experiences, memories and links (Ed. Anhembi Morumbi, 2005.)) and co-organizer of the famous piece “Moda Brasil – Fragmentos de um Vestir Tropical” (Fashion Brazil – fragments of a tropical way of dressing) ((Editora Anhembi Morumbi, 2001)).

Martha Calad – Colombia.

Member of the Contents Committee for Ixel Moda. Martha is an Interior designer, researcher and studious in design, has been for more than fifteen years the director of the laboratory of concept of INEXMODA, responsible for the investigation in sensibility and consumer concepts in a worldwide scale. Expert in the theorem of design and its application in the evolution of Colombia’s fashion consumer. www.inexmoda.org.co

5. Commercial area

Adriana Yunis - Colombia.

Commercial Director of Ixel Moda; with a Lawyer’s degree and a profound connoisseur of worldwide fashion, her cultural and artistic focus took her to widen her studies in the fashion area. With studies in “Styling”, fashion production, textiles and sewing, Adriana knows how to manage the dying, printing and draping process, learned in the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. Her experience in the legal area and her passion for the fashion industry make a perfect combination for her to address the Commercial department of the congress.

María Cecilia Calderón – Colombia.

Ixel Modas´ Strategic Commercial Communications Director. Maria is a Journalist and a Communicator with studies in Consumer psychology and qualitative investigation techniques. Has worked in the strategic communications and marketing department for brands such as: Exito, Punto Blanco, Peugeot, Carrefour, Intel, BBVA, Samsung, Skandia, Susalud, Protección, UNE. Former Marketing Research Director of Cervecería Unión, Advertising Director for Nacional de Chocolates, Strategic Planner for Gómez Chica and Associates, Manager of Casa Editorial El Tiempo in Medellín and Manager of Operations of Euro RSCG in Colombia. College Teacher and Speaker for Asomercadeo, Andi, UPB.

Diana Patricia Mejia V. – Colombia.

Ixel Modas´Account Manager. Graphic designer, with over 15 years of experience in the marketing and advertising departments, as Executive Director of multinationals such as EURO RSCG, TBWA, and SANCHO BBDO, for important accounts like EXITO, UNE, PROTECCION, CONFECCIONES COLOMBIA, AUTECO among others. Also worked as the Advertising Coordination for former bank CONAVI during 5 years, and in the fashion industry as Commercial Manager for Soho Confections.

Marcela Posada Vásquez – Colombia.

Ixel Modas´New media Director. Strategic in new media, Internet and Intranet, mobile marketing and web. Has designed digital marketing strategies for brands such as Imusa, Kellogg´s, Familia, Cerrejon, InterContinental, Eafi­t University, Medellín Digital, Juan Valdez. Community manager for the Iberoamerican meeting of digital cities, in the Intercontinental Hotel. Strategic Planner for I-Network and Pragma S.A., also editor of Yahoo! Colombia.

Juan Esteban Maya – Colombia.

Community Manager and KAM for Ixel Moda. Journalist of Antioquia University and fashion designer of SENA institute. Editor and coordinator of Culture Códice Magazine of Antioquia University, designer participant in the Sena Colombiamoda 2010 runway, fashion correspondent for www.revistafucsia.com and producer of the webpage http://www.elgrifo.co/sitio/, also writer of chronics for fashion in www.fashionradicalnews.com.

6. Communications and PR

Mariné Moré Morera. – Colombia.

Director of Communicatios of Ixel Moda. Masters in Social Communication with Direction and Edition in Journalism from the Catholic University of Chile. Among her passions in this area we can find the conceptualization and direction of Marketing Plans, Strategic Communication and dictating workshops training spokesmen, all of these through 9 years of experience. Her links with fashion communication have permitted her be an active consultant of the main fashion events of the country. Actually she runs different editorial projects, she´s also a professor and advisor for multilateral organizations and companies.

Ana María Pelaez - Colombia.

Ixel Modas´ PR. Specialized in marketing with emphasis in Public Relations, events management and implementation of projects and quality processes, Ana Maria has worked as Events Director for Carnival of Barranquilla in 2002 and Logistics Operator for People Marketing, Live Events, Logistic 911 and Carulla-Vivero. Marketing Manager of Autolitoral since 2011 and PR in charge of Ixel Moda in 2009 and 2010.

Fabiola Morera Comunicaciones – Colombia.

Ixel Modas´ Press office. Created in 1980, this company is pioneer in strategic press, advertising and public relations management in Colombia. Counts with an integrated service platform and “know how” for the optimal management of the image of the congress to the media, public opinion and media interest.

Juan Pablo Troya - Colombia.

Image consultant and Web Master for Ixel Moda, Juan Pablo is a graphic designer specialized in Branding and Brand Communication from the Development University in Santiago de Chile. For six years he has been a creative and strategic in 4D with specialization in digital communication development, social networks and editorial design, having under his responsibility the Art Direction of diverse editorial projects in Colombia and Chile. His professional experience includes designing for different public and private companies, international organizations; among them, the UN, International Book Fair and Corferias.

David Cuentas - Colombia

Graphic designer and coordinator of advertising pieces for Ixel Moda, David is a Graphics Design honors ´degree from University Autonoma del Caribe, very interested in design, art and music, and with this three strengths he comes to be part of Ixel Moda team since year 2007, in order to find visual solutions to graphic and advertising communication problems, providing a unique style and visual language.

7. Production

Yesid Osorio Farfán – Colombia

Ixel Modas´ Runway Producer. Passionate for fashion and always close to it, Yesid comes to the production world after several years of being working backstage in high quality events of well known national and international designers. He studied in Palermo University and today he is responsible for the Runway Direction for Ixel Moda with a team composed of 20 staffs. Yesid has also worked with Colombian designers such as Francesca Miranda, Fabrizio de Castro, Ketty Tinoco, María del Pilar Agamez, Paola Cavalli, Diana Cepeda and Malvi Castañeda; from Chile, Chantal Bersnau y Raíz Diseño; from México, Macario Jiménez; from Venezuela and Luis Perdomo. He has also worked with brands such as Chocolyne, Pilatos, Converse, Spring Step, Tania, The Color Wear, Studio F, Boots & Bags, among many others.

Santiago Roldán– Colombia. 

Ixel Modas´Runway Coordinator. Born in Medellin, Santiago is a Wardrobe Designer from Pontificia University Bolivariana, his artistic abilities have taken him to obtain wide recognitions including The Young Creators Runway by Chocolyne during Ixel Moda 2010. He actually works as the Image advisor and Wardrobe coordinator for Telemedellín channel.

Carolina Rocha– Colombia.

Models Coordinator of Ixel Moda since 2010. Born in Bogotá, Carolina is a Fashion Designer from de School of Design and Fashion Marketing, Arturo Tejada Cano, who has worked as designer and freelance advisor of several brands such as Monica Urquijo, Paola Dangond, Francesca Miranda, Naiduth Geles among others, being very passionate for fashion events and has also participated in many of them, involving herself in the production themes such as models control, logistics, being still today a well know advisor for various companies.

Kike Donado– Colombia.

Wardrobe and Backstage Coordinator. Native of Barranquilla city, this Fashion Designer from University Autonoma del Caribe has concentrated his formation in fashion specializing himself in backstage activities, one of his great passions. His experience comes from regional events were he has had the opportunity to have contact with many renowned Brands in Colombia. He actually works as Junior Production Coordinator of events at Sonovista advertising agency.

Diana Díaz– Colombia.

Contents Coordinator. From Barranquilla, Fashion Designer from University Autonoma del Caribe, very passionate for Research, initiated her work with Ixel Moda since 2009 as Artistic Producers Assistant and since 2010 she Works as the Contents Coordinator.

Leonardo Gallo – Colombia . Ixel Modas´ Field Producer. Leonardo is profesional in Architecture with emphasis in construction and real estate analysis, with a wide experience in marketing and advertising activities such as product launching, brand activation for clients such as P&G, Alpina, BMW among others; he also has experience in logistic planning and production of high impact events for concerts such as Vicente Fernandez, Metallica, Rock al Parque, Ricardo Arjona, Maná, Gran Combo de Puerto Rico among others; festivals and sports events (Carnaval of Barranquilla, Caminata de la Solidaridad, Media Maratón de Bogotá, Opening and Closure of the Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe Cartagena de Indias); fashion events (Plataforma K 2005 y 2006 and IXEL MODA in its three editions).

Karen Escorcia – Colombia.

Ixel Modas´ Logistics and Productions Assistant. Bachelor in Business Administration, Karen has high experience in the operation and assistance for high impact events and brand activations regarding the fashion sector. She has been linked to Ixel Moda since its beginnings as Presidents ‘Assistant and as a support to the field area, she manages all of the processes, manuals and regulations of the organization.
